Shaina Cook

Communications and Media Project Manager

As a member of the Media Services team at Collaborative, Shaina Cook works with clients to plan and execute outreach strategies, develop editorial content and create communications tools to advance their work. She also supports clients by managing projects and building relationships with the media and education associations.

Prior to joining Collaborative, Shaina was the National Education Policy Fellowship Program (EPFP) Coordinator at the Institute for Educational Leadership (IEL), where she led event and outreach efforts and supported programming for EPFP. At IEL, she also provided communications support to the Coalition for Community Schools and across the Institute. Shaina has also served as a project manager in education communications, specializing in partnership development, publications, event management and media outreach.

Shaina holds a bachelor’s degree in communication with minors in English and political science from the University of California, Davis. She is also a proud alumna of DC EPFP. The daughter of a high school English teacher, Shaina worked as a teacher’s aide in an elementary school and as an academic peer advisor during college, and has spent her entire professional career in education communications.
